Populist claim that traditional cultures today are under threat. There are three cases were majority rights claims are plausible as a principle of liberal democracy, says Alan Patten. Traditionally minorities deserved that right, but we can very carefully apply those ideas in the sphere of multiculturalism: shouldn’t we think about questions of rights and cultural protection also for majorities?
