Nell’ambito della ventunesima edizione del Capalbio International Short Film Festival , che si svolgerà nella cittadina toscana dal 24 al 27 luglio, l’associazione internazionale Reset-Dialogues on Civilizations, fondata da Nina zu Fürstenberg e Giancarlo Bosetti, conferirà il Premio Reset‐Dialogues on Civilizations per il dialogo interculturale al cortometraggio “Vivo e Veneto” (Italia 2014, 8’), presentato nella rassegna Corti Comedy e diretto dal giovane regista Francesco Bovo, classe 1985, autore del soggetto insieme ad Alessandro Pittoni.

- The international association Reset-Dialogues on Civilizations, founded by Nina zu Fürstenberg and Giancarlo Bosetti, will present the Reset‐Dialogues on Civilizations Award for intercultural dialogue to the short film “Vivo e Veneto” (Italy 2014, 8’) within the context of the 21st edition of the Capalbio International Short Film Festival, hosted in the Tuscan town from July 24th to July 27th. The film was presented in the category for Short Comedy and directed by Francesco Bovo.
- The seventh edition of the Istanbul Seminars will be held on May 15-20, 2014 at Istanbul Bilgi University. Topic: “The Sources of Pluralism – Metaphysics, Epistemology, Law and Politics”
- Reset-Dialogues on Civilizations is delighted to announce that the American philosopher of Turkish origin, Seyla Benhabib, a professor at Yale University and president of our Scientific Committee since 2013, has won the prestigious 2014 Meister-Eckhard Preis. The award will be presented to her on May 19th at Cologne University in Germany, for her scientific contribution to philosophical research on changing identities, globalisation and migration.
- The international association Reset-Dialogues on Civilizations has chosen the winner of the “Reset-DOC Dialogues between Cultures” Award 2014 at the Rendez-Vous Festival, an event held in Italy (2 april – 10 May) dedicated to the new French cinema. This year’s winner is Rithy Panh, the Cambodian director, script writer and producer who emigrated to France, and who for decades has been committed with his many films and documentaries to reporting and denouncing the atrocities committed by Pol Pot’s regime. Resetdoc will present the award for his film “L’image manquante” on April 6th 2014 at the Casa del Cinema in Rome.

- In the Middle East today, conflicts along religious and ethnic dimensions create situations in which minorities are in great danger. It is important to look at how constitutions and their supporting institutions can protect religious pluralism and toleration in mixed or divided societies. What are the constitutional arrangements that are the most successful in ensuring minority rights? How can constitutions deal with the tensions between individual and communal rights? What can we harness from local social, political and cultural traditions in various Middle East and North African cultures to aid the development of constitutions that promote pluralism?
