Olivier Roy is currently joint-chair at the RSCAS and SPS department of the EUI. Previously he has been senior researcher at the French CNRS and Professor at the EHESS and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) in Paris. Since 1984, he has acted as a consultant to the French Foreign Ministry. His book Secularism Confronts Islam (2007) offers a perspective on the place of Islam in secular society and looks at the diverse experiences of Muslim immigrants in the West.
