Nader Hashemi is associate Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver (2013-present) and Director of the Center for Middle East Studies (2012-present). His research regards Middle East and Islamic affairs, religion, and democracy and human rights, Islam-West relations.  He graduated with a PhD from the University of Toronto. His recent publications include Islam Secularism and Liberal Democracy: Toward a Democratic Theory for Muslim Societies (2009). He was also the co-editor of The People Reloaded: The Green Movement and the Struggle for Iran’s Future (2011).
