Maria Tavernini is an independent journalist who graduated in Politics and International relations from the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. She lived for eight years in India from where she reported for international publications including Al Jazeera, TRT World and Narratively. She also collaborated with a number of Italian media, such as Altreconomia and Q Code Mag among others. She covers human rights, drug policy, migration, gender and environmental issues. In 2021 she published No going back, a book on the queer movement in India.
