The World Philosophy Day is an invaluable occasion of encounter and dialogue among philosophers and thinkers of different cultures and backgrounds. The very idea to gather them in Teheran, in a country where an authoritarian and intolerant regime is continuously violating the freedom of thought and expression is a challenge to every reasonable and plausible principle of dialogue. The protest of our Association Reset Dialogues on Civilizations started last January with a letter sent to the director of the Unesco signed on behalf of the Association (Giuliano Amato, Giancarlo Bosetti and Ramin Jahanbegloo) and supported by philosophers and professors among which Jürgen Habermas, Seyla Benhabib, Fred Dallmayr, Alessandro Ferrara, Jean Cohen, Joseph La Palombara (President of ResetDoc-US) and many others, and it still carries on.

We will discuss how to render more effective our protest against the absurdity of this World Philosophy Day in Tehran and how to promote alternative meetings for the philosophical dialogue in a global and inclusive way.
