Religions
[ IT ]
Many believed that the improvements of science and tecnique, the spread of wealth and globalizations would have settled their death. Instead in the last decades, religions come back in the centre of the public scene, answering to a diffuse need of spirituality and/or collective identity, but raising new problems as well. How do religions evolve? Which is their contribution to dialogue among civilizations?
Chiesa
Online journal of Sandro Magister, Professor of Contemporary Church History at the University of Urbino and journalist and reporter for the weekly magazine “L’espresso,” for which he has written since 1974. He specializes in religious news, in particular on the Catholic Church and the Vatican. He received a theology degree in 1967. He has written two books on the political history of the Italian Church. The site www.chiesa is his creation. Since the fall of 2002 it has been entirely bilingual, in Italian and English. The site reaches a vast and growing readership: about half of these are in Italy, one third in the United States, and the rest spread throughout the world, from Japan to Argentine, from South Africa to Sweden, from India to China.
